How to SEO for Pinterest
Pinterest SEO is implemented through the use of keywords. One of the most critical factors in determining your platform's success is the keywords you use and where you put them.
Keywords are people's words and phrases when searching for content on Pinterest. When you include relevant keywords in your account and pins, you're more likely to show up in search results and drive traffic to your site.
But how do you know which keywords to use?
One way is to simply brainstorm a list of relevant terms to your business or niche. By researching and using relevant keywords, you can make your Pinterest account more visible and increase your chances of driving traffic to your site.
Think of Pinterest as Google. Users enter a word or phrase in the Pinterest search bar to view what they are looking for. Those words or phrases are called keywords, which is how your pins appear in users' feeds.

Where To Find Pinterest Keywords For SEO
Now that we know the importance of keywords and why we need them, where can Pinterest keywords be found?
Pinterest search bar
You can use Pinterest's search engine to see frequently used terms. Enter a keyword into the search bar, and Pinterest will show you various related terms.
When you start typing in the search bar, Pinterest gives you other keyword and long-tail keyword ideas. This narrows down your keywords to more niche-specific keywords.
Word Bubbles
The word bubbles are back! Pinterest took away this feature a few years ago, making keyword research a little more daunting. But all is forgiving;)
Word bubbles pop up underneath the search bar with more search suggestions.
Also, there are other keyword ideas when you scroll down and see these boxes that contain related searches. Pinterest is giving you other searches related to your niche that users are looking for.
Pinterest trends
Pinterest trends reveal what is popular on Pinterest. This nifty feature shows how keywords perform over time and is a great way to select trending keywords. This is an excellent way to plan your seasonal content for the year.
Scrolling down from the Pinterest trends search bar, you will see surging trends. Here Pinterest shares ideas that are trending across their most popular categories.

Your website or post
You should be actively engaged in SEO if you are trying to rank on Google or any other search engine. These keywords and phrases can be used on Pinterest too.
Keyword research tool
Keyword research tools like Semrush and Moz don’t pull directly from Pinterest data, but they are still a great way to find keywords.
There is also a Pinterest keyword tool available. I have not taken the plunge yet, but Amy LeBlanc of Levee Road Studio did an excellent post about Pin Inspector. She has tested it out and given her stamp of approval.
Pinterest ads
Saved the best for last. Having a Pinterest business account allows you to create ads. Here we can research keywords without spending money or creating an ad.
Click on Ads --> Create Ad --> Continue --> Select Targeting Details > Find New Customers --> expand Interests & Keywords --> Add keywords.
Clicking on the keyword results will create a list in the left column. You will see that these keywords are searched five million-plus times a month.
Pinterest Keyword Strategy
Now that you have a list of researched keywords create a word bank and use them in your:
Profile name and bio
Text overlay on your pins
